Senior Algorithm Engineer - Localization

What you will do
As a Senior Algorithm Engineer, you will develop and evaluate concepts for accurate ego vehicle localization with a strong focus on concepts possible to implement and run in real time on affordable target hardware. You will also be responsible for ensuring a robust localization in variations of environmental and weather conditions, as well as using both high-end reference sensors and affordable automotive level sensors (radar, lidar, vision). You will work in modern simulation environments and have direct access to vehicles to rapidly experience your results first-hand. You will work in self-guided teams and interface regionally and globally where you will help make decisions.
Skills and requirements
The successful applicant will hold a Master’s Degree, or preferably a PhD, in Signal Processing, Computer Science, Robotics or similar, along with 10 years of industry experience in developing software for real time applications. You will have a strong theoretical background in developing algorithms relevant for localization development, for instance signal processing or Bayesian estimation theory. We expect you to have experience in using sensor data from one or several sensor technologies such as radars, lidars or vision sensors. It would be highly beneficial (but not mandatory) if you also have experience in developing and implementing probabilistic localization algorithms or SLAM-algorithms. For this position, you will also need strong C++ programming skills.
