WHAT YOU WILL DO
Our Dynamic Environment Team is looking for a Systems Functional Safety Engineer! The Dynamic Environment Team at Zenuity develops algorithms that fuse sensor (camera, RADAR, LIDAR, Ultrasonic, etc.) data to detect, classify, and track moving objects around the autonomous vehicle to enable safe operation alongside other vehicles and objects. You will be responsible for definition and development of the safety case for our Dynamic Environment sub-system software. You will work closely with our Functional Safety Specialists and Systems Architects as you craft the functional safety requirements for the Dynamic Environment algorithms and assure they are well-aligned with the larger safety goals of the system and system architecture. You will work on self-guided cross-functional Agile teams, using agile processes to develop real-time software design collateral. You will be exposed to modern simulation environments and test vehicles to rapidly experience our results first-hand.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science is required, but a Master’s is preferred. This position is open to candidates with industry experience in automotive safety (ADAS/AD in particular) or aerospace. You must have a background and prior experience developing functional safety automotive systems and critical safety requirements. Experience with Functional Safety Analysis, SOTIF, HARA, FTAs, and FMEAs are required for this role. You must have prior experience developing functional safety goals and concepts, and designing safety mechanisms. Experience with System Weaver is a must, as is past experience with ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508.
Useful additional experience includes development of system and/or sub-system architecture, software design, and requirements which are clear, concise, unambiguous, and testable. Beneficial skills and experience include knowledge of STPA (System Theoretic Process Analysis), knowledge of automotive sensors for autonomous vehicles (camera, RADAR, LIDAR, ultrasonic), experience with C and C++, AUTOSAR knowledge, system and software testing, and integration, and experience with Git, Gerrit, JIRA and Confluence. Additionally, experience with robotics, ROS, and/or UAVs is beneficial.
