What You Will Do
Our System Team is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer! As a member of the Systems Team, you will develop, implement, integrate, and test high quality, safety-critical automotive system software for embedded targets for production autonomous vehicle products. You will work closely with system and software architects as well as algorithm and test engineers to design and implement software for system-level functions such as mode management, fault management and diagnostics, cybersecurity, over-the-air software updates, data collection, and interfacing with cloud services. You will use agile processes and C++ code to develop real-time software and collateral and have direct access to test vehicles to rapidly experience your results first-hand. You will work on self-guided cross-functional teams and interface globally where you will help make decisions. You will also mentor the team on technical issues, tools, and processes as necessary.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required, but a Master’s or PhD is preferred, and 10+ years of industry experience is required. You must have a strong background and prior experience developing software for safety-critical automotive embedded systems. You must have a strong foundational knowledge of real-time and concurrent computing principles and techniques. Strong experience with AUTOSAR, ASPICE, and ISO26262 is necessary. Excellent C/C++ programming experience is needed. The ideal candidate will also have experience with requirements/user story development, unit testing, and software integration. For this role, you must also have prior AD/ADAS automotive experience.
Beneficial skills and experience include a background with fully autonomous vehicles, and tools like Jira, Confluence, and static code checking tools. Additionally, experience with network communication protocols and good knowledge of UML, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, robotics and/or UAVs is beneficial. The ideal candidate will also have experience with recent NVIDIA GPUs, and QNX. Prior experience with Git and Gerrit. You will benefit from being very comfortable working in Linux as well as Windows environments.
