WHAT YOU WILL DO
Our System Team is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer! In close collaboration with system safety engineers and software architects, you will perform safety analyses; derive software safety requirements; and design, implement, and test software safety mechanisms for safety-critical autonomous vehicle systems for real production autonomous vehicle products. You will define quality measures and processes to ensure that safety-critical software meets the required ASIL criteria. You will use agile processes and C++ code to develop real-time software and collateral. You will work on self-guided cross-functional teams and interface globally where you will help make decisions. You will also mentor the team on technical issues, tools, and processes as necessary.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required, but a Master’s or PhD is preferred, and 10+ years of industry experience is required. You must have a strong background and prior experience developing software for safety-critical automotive systems (ADAS/AD in particular). Experience with Functional Safety Analysis, HARA, FTAs, and FMEAs are required for this role. You must have prior experience developing functional safety goals and concepts, and designing safety mechanisms. Additional experience includes development of system and/or sub-system architecture, software design, user stories and/or requirements which are clear, concise, unambiguous, and testable. Experience with System Weaver is a must, as is past experience with ISO 26262 (especially part 6) and/or IEC 61508. You must have excellent C/C++ programming experience.
Beneficial skills and experience include a background with fully autonomous vehicles, and tools like Jira, Confluence, and static code checking tools. Past experience with AUTOSAR and ASPICE are highly beneficial. Additionally, experience with network communication protocols and good knowledge of Python, robotics and/or UAVs, and experience developing software for safety-critical applications is beneficial. The ideal candidate will also have experience with recent NVIDIA GPUs, and QNX. Prior experience with Git and Gerrit. You will benefit from being very comfortable working in Linux as well as Windows environments.
