Systems Engineer Functional Safety - Autonomous Driving

What you will do

Our Autonomous Drive Safety Team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer. In this role you will:

  • Work closely with the cross-functional teams and perform safety analysis
  • Participate in design reviews and discussions to help ensure that safety goals and requirements are addressed
  • Support the definition of safety requirements and functional architecture
  • Provide leadership in defining, implementing, and improving relevant safety processes
  • Write and support the implementation of functional and technical safety requirements in all parts of the vehicle system design

Who you are

  • A background within automotive, or robotics, or software development.
  • Practical experience of safety critical system design
  • Ability and social skills to drive safety concept development in a cross-functional team organization
  • Familiar with functional safety frameworks and safety work products
  • Have a can-do attitude and approach your work with vigor and determination. 
  • Excellent communication skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience that includes Systems or Functional Safety engineering
  • Extensive experience within any of the following areas:
    • Perception, e.g. localization, maps, object tracking or vision 
    • Trajectory planning
  • Expertise in safety analysis for autonomous vehicles, automotive, or embedded systems
  • Experience applying functional safety concepts to autonomous vehicles, driver assist features, and/or automated systems
  • Familiarity with fail-operational system architectures
